Vrsar and surroundings
Vrsar, once a small fishermen's village and today a famous tourist destination on the west coast of Istria.
Traces of life on this are go way back to the prehistoric times. The saint Romuald cave, right above the Lim Channel, is famous for its' findings of paleolithic culture. The first inhabitants in this part of Istrian peninsula ewrw Histri.
Between 10th and 18th century Vrsar was administrative center of Poreč Bishopsy.
The development of tourism began in 1960ies. There is also a naturism Center on the Island of Koversada. Its' foundation was first layed in 1961, and since than it has become widely known among naturists…Just as the famous venetian lover of all times Giacomo Casanova, was fascinated with the charming beauty of our town, we belive that this magnificent place will captivate you too.
The must see places are the little Church of Saint Anton, Old Roman Gate, The Church of Saint Martin, the city walls and its' typical small town towers.
